Moretonhampstead Action Group for Sustainability
- Moretonhampstead Action Group for Sustainability
Who are we?
Since January 2008, this Group has been aiming to make a positive contribution to combating climate change by reducing carbon emissions in and around Moretonhampstead. Membership is open to all.
Our Objectives
To gather and disseminate practical information, advice and guidance about what individuals are able to do on a local basis to reduce carbon emissions.
Over time to develop an ability (possibly through the medium of the Moreton website) to provide contacts and links to other organisations concerned with climate change and carbon reduction.
To work with other organisations - notably the Parish Council and Moretonhampstead Development Trust - on practical issues in pursuit of the Groups aim.
To lobby national, regioanl and local government on relevant "green" issues that affect Moretonhampstead - and elsewhere.
To facilitate the purchase in bulk renewable energy and similar items. to undertake other activities agreed by the Group in pursuit of the Aim.
Our Activities
We meet on the third Thursday of every month, usually at the Community Club, Court Street. Sometimes these are discussion meetings, sometimes we have talks or films.
Members are involved in various projects - see separate pages.
