Come to our fantastic Moreton Carnival!
An exciting event with lots going on throughout the week culminating with the fantastic Carnival procession! Look out for publicity nearer the time for more details as the planning continues.
Events During Carnival Time
Moretonhampstead Carnival day will be as usual on the fourth Thursday in August, which falls on 27th in 2009. The committee organise numerous events leading up to Carnival Day as can be seen listed below. There is dancing in the square and dancing the night away, with everything from the Charleston through the Twist to Hip Hop - there is always something for everyone!
We also have a band on Carnival Day. The Grand Procession starts at 6.30pm and there are usually around 80 entries.
This year promises to be as exciting as ever with the following:
Carnival Coffee morning at the Community Club from 10.00am. All welcome!
Carnival Beer Festival
Car Treasure Hunt
Bingo at the Parish Hall. Cash prizes! Come and join us!
Carnival Darts Final
The alternative/comic flower & veg show
Poems, performances, pasties & pints
Carnival Summer Ball
Jumble sale/afternoon teas at the Parish Hall
Dancing in the Square
Sponsored Cycle Ride
Carnival Service & Town Fete in the Sentry & Fun Run
Children's Fancy Dress at the Parish Hall

Baby Show at the Parish Hall

Carnival Day!

Including: Super Soaker stocks, greasy pole, bouncy castle
Children's Entertainment from 10.00am & much much more!
Grand Procession: 6.30PM!
Live Music and the Carnival Queen Float!
Disco in the Courtyard of the White Hart from 8pm until midnight on Carnival Day then Music Night at the White Hart Hotel. Acoustic Music, free entry from 8pm-11pm.
