Get online day takes place every October, and it's a chance for everyone to get themselves to a UK online centre and get going with computers and the internet...
It doesn't matter if you've never touched a computer before or if you've got a little bit of knowledge, Get online day is all about getting to grips with something new, and being part of IT!
This year Get online day will take place on Friday 23 October, and we want as many people as possible to get involved and get themselves - or their off-line friends and family - into a UK online centre and onto the internet. There'll be around 700 events taking place across England from around 19 to 31 October. Expect some fun activities, a helping hand on the computers, and possibly some games and prizes to boot...
Come along to UK- Online day at the Moretonhampstead Library and get help getting on-line. Helpful staff and volunteers will be on hand in our Learning Centre to give you help and advice to get started.
In easy steps, we'll show you how to use a computer and the internet. Plus, once you've got the basics we could help you do lots more - like take a course or get a qualification.
Whatever you'd like to do, using computers and the internet could save you time, hassle and money. You could find a new job, help your kids with homework, contact friends and family or even do your weekly shop, all online. Through UK-Online you can find out how to deal with tax on-line, benefits you may be able to claim and other information.
We will be running a prize draw on the day for those who particicipate so look out for information nearer the day.
