Local History Archiving Course

We will be running a free course on archiving on September 9th and 17th.

Moretonhampstead History Society has built up a collection of documents, photos & a few artefacts which are currently stored in about 12 cardboard boxes. The contents of the boxes have been listed – see: http://www.moretonhampstead.org.uk/pages/archives.ghtml.

From late October 2011, as part of an HLF-funded project, we will be looking to relocate, catalogue, store and digitise these in a room in the Greenhill Centre. They will form an archive that will grow, be linked to the Society’s website and available to the public for research and the purchase of copies of documents and photos.

We will be training a small team of  6 volunteers who will carry out the setting up of the archive. This would preferably take place in Moretonhampstead where we can provide a suitable room with IT projection facilities available if required at no cost.

Yoga Course with Jane Willis

Silk Painting of Throat Chakra

 

Come and join this friendly mixed ability yoga class in lovely sunny room looking out over the countryside for a peaceful morning of stretching, breathing and posture work. Leave behind the tensions of the week and relax and refresh yourself in preparation for the weekend. Friday mornings Sports Centre 10-11.30am for a 10 week summer term. Teaching with the Moreton Development Trust

If you are interested in teaching with us please do email and ask for a proposal form. Our tutors need to join the Institute of Learning, the professional body for teachers, trainers and assessors across further education in the UK. We are able to offer marketing your course together with our programme for an admin fee or we contract you to teach when we would either expect you to have teaching qualifications or be working towards gaining the PTTLS certificate. These are part of the new regulations for all teachers.
