George ForbyUkulele for Everyone with Dickon Fell

Come and enjoy an entertaining day of learning the ukulele with Dickon Fell. This is a fun and easy instrument to learn to play. Instruments will be provided though you are welcome to bring your own. All welcome but the day is aimed at beginners. Come and try being the next George Formby and maybe try playing in public later on! Accompanied children welcome with a paying adult. Only 2 children per paying adult. Children attend free up to 15yrs.

Playing guitarIntroduction to the Guitar with Dickon Fell

Come along and enjoy learning the basics of guitar playing, at a very relaxed pace aimed at complete beginners. The workshop is in two parts, to ebable you to practice and develop what you learn on the first day before consolidating and lerning more on the second day. Please bring  guitar, although one or two will be available on the day. Please let us know in advance. The workshops will lead to an ongoing class if there is interest.

musicMusical Performance Workshop with Dickon Fell

This is a two part fun workshop to learn and arrange some songs and tunes for an informal group performance. You will not need to read music,  but some experience of playing an instrument or singing will be useful. There will be emphasis on improvisation, using chords, tablature and learning by ear, with plenty of practise time and tutorial support.

Session 1 will establish a repertoire of music. Some instruments will be available on the day (please ask for details) or bring your own. The central focus will be on acoustic stringed instruments, (guitar, ukulele, violin etc.) but compatible wind, percussion and keyboard instruments will also be very welcome, as well as vocalists. Everyone will be assigned a part to play,  according to ability and experience and you will practice before session 2. We will record some of the music for you to hear too. An immensely enjoyable fun workshop that can lead on to a performance in a local pub!

Sunday 20th/27th May 2012 1pm-4pm at Green Hill.
