These are local courses that embrace the out doors and include subjects like nature awareness, survival and bird watching. Come and enjoy our beautiful Dartmoor countryside while you learn!

FiremakingFamily Bush Craft Day with Dan Thompson-Mills

An exciting day to learn the skills of wild fire-making, making shelters in the woods, collecting and eating wild foods, and other outdoor skills for everyone. Also, learn how to read the language of the birds and develop a deeper connection to nature. During this day you will develop your survival/outdoor skills and feel more at home in nature discovering the increasingly popular tools for survival. You may pay by cheque to Moretonhampstead Development Trust or by PayPal below. Please be patient with PayPal as it can take time after you have clicked the button.

DowsingDowsing for Everyone with David Lockwood

Curious about dowsing and would like to have a go? Then this is your chance! Learn how to look for energy lines, ley lines and water courses and have fun doing it!  Everyone is welcome. The day starts indoors where you learn the basics of how to dowse and then you will go out to try for your self! Please bring a picnic lunch. Dowsing rods and pendulums provided.  Children welcome on this course with a paying adult. Two children per paying adult only. Children free under 10yrs.

Sunday 13th May 10am-3pm at Green Hill and outdoors

Bird WatchingDiscovering Birds with Rick Lockwood and Ollie Hornbeam

An introduction to bird-watching. The day will include; tips on how to identify birds, what to expect in different habitats, biology and behaviour, an introduction to field craft and nature awareness and the equipment and resources available to get the most out of bird-watching. The day will comprise of an indoor session and then a short field trip to look for birds. Bring a packed lunch. All the family welcome. Children under 10yrs go free with a apying adult.

Saturday 19th May, 10am-3pm, 1 day in the library and outdoors.   

Fee: Full £25.00 (Concessions Benefits/Student/15yrs and above £17.00/Children 10-14yrs £12.50p

Please book all children even if they are attending free. For information on concessions please go to this page. When you pay by PayPal please allow time for your booking to appear. It can be a little slow.You can add other courses or people once you see your booking.
