Wray Valley Trail Update
Work continues on the Wray Valley Trail by Devon Counry Council with the help and support of Dartmoor National Pk Authority to progress the scheme, a community path to be used by pedestrains, cyclists and equestrians.
Phase One of the scheme in Moretonhampstead which runs from Pound Lane to Steward Wood bridge has been out to tender, with a programmed start date already underway.
Devon County Council will be carrying out advance clearance works along the route in order to facilitate the construction works and you may see signs out along the nearby roads. This will involve clearance of undergrowth, hedges, shrubs and trees along the permitted route, that have grown on the unused railway line since its closure in the 1960s.
As the scheme moves closer to construction, both authorities will continue to jointly issue regular communications with the local community to provide progress updates.
If you have an enquiry about the Wray Valley Trail, please email ian.james @devon.gov.uk at Devon County Council or chart@dartmoor-npa.gov.uk at Dartmoor National Pk Authority.
