From September 2008 we are running the following courses:
Beginners Computing 8 weeks starting Mon 9.30am -11.30am or 1-3pm 22nd Sept 08 Fee: £45.60 (£41.00/£22.80*)

A course for complete beginners to learn how to familiarise yourself with your computer starting with the keyboard and moving on to using email and the internet and simple word processing techniques. No experience required.

Improvers Computing 8 weeks starting Tues 1.30-3.30pm  23rd Sept  08 Fee: £45.60 (£41.00/£22.80*)

For those who have completed a beginners course or already have a basic knowledge of computing and would like to improve their ability. We will cover basic Word Processing, Spread Sheets, saving and organising photo images and other computer techniques.

Intermediate Computing 8 weeks starting Tues  4-6pm 23rd Sept 08  Fee: £45.60 (£41.00/£22.80*)

For those who have completed a beginners course and have a more extensive knowledge of computing and would like to extend their ability. We will cover Word Processing, Spread Sheets, troubleshooting, some manipulating of photo images, an introduction to web design and other computer techniques. After this course you should be at a level to move towards achieving a certificate in qualifications such as CLAIT or ECDL.

Website Development Day  Sat 1st Nov 08 Fee: £22.00 (£19.80/£11.00*)

This day is for anyone working on or producing or maintaining a website who wants a refresher or practical assistance. Come along to work on the practical development of your website in the Learning centre and have our tutor on hand to help you through the tricky bits. The day will include the basics and where to go for further help. A great day for those who are creating their own website!

Digital Cameras 8 weeks starting Weds 10-12midday 24th Sept 08  Fee: £45.60 (£41.00/£22.80*)

This popular course will help you understand and use digital cameras. Learn hands on techniques; manipulate images and transfer them from your camera to computer. Create a web photo gallery, calenders, cards etc. Save and organise images. Be creative with your camera!

Digital Imaging  8 weeks starting Weds  7- 9pm 24th Sept 08 Fee: £45.60 (£41.00/£22.80*)

Use Adobe Photoshop Element to learn about computer based photo manipulation. This course may be of interest to those who are attending or have completed the Digital camera course. Restore and enhance old photographs; manipulate images, cut and paste, add text, install drawn and painted objects. Have fun with your images!

Basic Web Design  8 weeks starting Thurs 7-9pm 25th Sept 08  Fee: £45.60 (£41.00/£22.80*)

This popular course will teach you how to design and build a professional looking website using Dreamweaver MX2004 software or NVU (free download). The course covers building a basic web page; incorporating graphics; building and using tables; designing a menu driven web site with navigation; uploading pages and images on to the web server. Come and be inspired to create your own website!

New Course! Troubleshooting your PC A one day workshop on Sat Oct 4th 08 at 1.30-5.30pm (£22.00/£19.80/£11.00)

This course is for those with some knowledge of computers to look at troubleshooting problems that arise and will include virus protection, downloads, error messages and how to deal with them, computer updates and a variety of other useful tips! There will also be time to answer some of your own questions. A very useful day!

The first price is full fee with no concessions/the second price is for those over 60 and the third price is a concessionary rate for those on benefits for which we need proof. Benefits accepted include income support, housing benefit, Job seekers allowance, Council tax benefit. Please enquire for further information and a Fee Concession form which must be completed with your application.

Please note that courses do not run on bank holidays.

It is necessary to book your place on these courses. You may book by printing off the booking form here and sending it to us together with your fee or email the completed form to moretonadmin@onetel.com and post your fee separately.

As places are limited you are unlikely to get one if you just turn up.

I.T. Surgery:

An ongoing and highly helpful I.T. surgery is being held in the Moretonhampstead Library. Merlin Howse will be available from 7pm - 9pm every Tuesday evening to help with your IT. questions no matter what they are. Please visit the I.T. surgery website to find out more or call Katheryn on 01647 440855 if you'd like to book an appointment. The service costs just £4 for a session of expertise! Well worth it! Merlin is also holding themed evenings at the I.T. Surgery to cover some of the more common issues related to your P.C. such as how to deal with viruses or when you get an error message on your machine! Do take a look on the website.
