Fishing around Dartmoor

Dartmoor Trout

There are plenty of opportunities to fish around the beautiful rivers and lakes of Dartmoor. You can usually pick up a permit from local Post Offices. Check at the Information Office for where to go for the kind of fishing you are interested in.

Still Water Game Fishing

The beautiful Dartmoor reservoir of Kennick, less than three miles from Moretonhampstead, is regularly stocked with rainbow trout. Next to it is Tottiford, nestling amongst broadleaf woodland with attractive way marked walks linking up with Trenchford which has car parking, a stunning picnic area and toilet facilities.  During the winter this lake is used as a pike fishery. Day tickets are available from a self service kiosk. Park at Trenchford to start your excursion around the lakes. Anglers can fish for natural brown trout at low cost with permits available from the self service kiosk at Fernworthy, seven miles from Moretonhampstead.
